Thread: Completed FFVI

    Default Completed FFVI

I just completed FFVI today and I must say that it is definetly one of the best Final Fantasys out there. I really enjoyed all the charecters and enjoyed how each one was different in battle and in story. I was wondering what ever happend to Shadow? I never found him again after the sky fell. Did he die? Also I was wondering what WoB and WoR stood for. Also with the Ragnorak esper I read someone sayin something about getting an Economizer what the devil does that do?
I always hear people say that they would love a remake of FFVII but I think FFVI is more deserving because alot of people won't play FFVI because of the graphics (ie: my roomate) even though it is an amazing game. I think remaking this FF would bring much joy to the world and newer FF fans.
The one problem i have with this game was once i got Ultima and the gem box i was able to basically own everyone. The game got alot easier, too easy. Also I was expecting the dragons to be more difficult but they were push overs. Did anyone else think that FFVI got to be too easy at the end? Also after killing Kefka the game just like ended, no real wrap up, but i guess who needs one when all the evil is destroyed.
Overall this game is amazing and should be played by all.
Just my two cents, thanks for reading.

I'm glad you enjoyed this beautiful game. Any favorite moments?

As for your questions. Did you wait for Shadow at the Floating Continent? When you're trying to escape with the timer, if you keep refusing to leave, Celes says you need to wait for Shadow. He cuts it really close as well with only a few seconds to spare. If you didn't wait, then he is killed in the devastation that creates the WoR.

The Econimizer is easily the most overpowered Relic in FFVI, it makes all magic cost 1mp. You get them from the Brontasaur monster as well as the Colesium if you bet the Gem Box.

WoB means world of balance - Before Kefka went destructive on the planet
WoR means world of ruin - After Kefka went all destructive on the planet

And what do you mean by no real wrap up? All the characters learn some lesson and discover something about themselves and the world is saved. The rest is pretty much left to your imagination, ie. everyone is happy and they start rebuilding the world or something. And they probably get onto writing that self help book kefka was on about.

Ya thats what i meant by there wasn't one but you didnt really need a wrap up. My favorite moment was probably at the end when you have to get everyone in your party back. I thought that was a really cool idea for the game. Although sometimes it didn't really seem like some of the charecters were too surprised to see the others. I also liked how sometimes you had to have like 2 or 3 partys. I liked having four people in a group too, some how to me it seems way more enjoyable then three. The more the merryier. I feel bad for Shadow knowing he died, he was the man.

Congrats on completion, I'm not too far behind ya right now. I'm about to head into Kefka's Final Tower and am just leveling up my characters into the high 40's.

Just out of curiosity, what levels were the 3 parties of 4 you used in the final place?

FFVI is a great game like so many of the games in the series, and the character backstories are AWESOME! Locke's, Shadow's, Celes's, Terra's, Setzer's, etc... Even the characters you strangly stumble upon like Gau and Mog have something in their history that makes you raise an eyebrow and realize how deep this game goes for how simple it is as well.

    Great game; Awesome game.

My charecter's were all around level 50-55, maybe slight higher. However i dont think high 40s will be a problem at all, once you get ultima the game pretty much plays itself.

Heh, get Ultima...funny. I took Ragnarok the Weapon instead of the Esper. So now I'm attempting to change this damn Cursed Shield into the Palidan Shield for Ultima. I have a feeling I'm way over 255 battle victories, but still...the Cursed Shield it remains. :/

Your roomate is an idiot. If he refuses to play a game because of its graphics, then he doesn't deserve to play any game at all. People like that disgust me.

Makes me want to replay it. But I think I'll wait until I get a DS Lite and the GBA version.

People not playing certain games because of graphics is a reality, not everyone can look past that. It is what they are gonna see the most while playing that game, so if it is constinently bothering them they won't put up with it.

WOO-HOO I just completed the game myself now! Freak'n pumped baby! Onto FFIV I go!

And yeah Jackal, I have the Ribbon eqiuped on my Cursed Shield user to nullify all the status affects except Condemation. I've fought so many battles, I was tallying them down for a while, but I can't seem to turn it into the Palidan Shield....ugh.
