No, no, no. >.< That OVA was hardly watchable. Go with the manga.

    Some of my favorites:
    ~Wolf's Rain
~Revolutionary Girl Utena (avoid if you don't like artsy fartsy, though)
~X (though the manga is preferable by far)
    ~The Twelve Kingdoms
    ~His and Her Circumstances

Ew, no. Read the manga of that instead; it's actually canon.

Karin is pretty good, and is not, as the opening may imply ('cause it's really, really fanservice-y), hentai. All the other ones I can think of have been named already.

Oh, and Inuyasha, no matter how much hype it gets, is not actually that good.
I've read the manga and I haver the series, I can't decided which I like better, yeah I'd say the manga is better but the series isn't bad.

    i'd say:

    Ghost in a shell
    outlaw star
    love hina
    any .hack// anime
    blood the last vampire
    macross plus
    FF unlimited
    cowboy bebop
DBZ (overrated and daft but still good and fun)
akira (amazingly and totally overatted and confusing but its still ok to watch)
blood the last vampire (short but has great atmosphere)
princess monoke (the best studio ghibli production)
laputa (the second best studio ghibli production lol)
FF7: last order (short but a nice retelling of the nibelheim incident)

Inuyasha is a great series overall, but not in English, and not so much lately (concerning the manga). If you watch only the anime, though, that doesn't matter.

Inuyasha is my personal favorite. However, if you choose to watch Inuyasha, and love it, reading the manga to find out what happens after the last episode might leave you in a bloodthirsty rage to dismember Rumiko Takahashi (creator) once a week. =O

Oh, and it is quite lengthy! It has 167 episodes in total.

Its not really as good as all above, but I enjoyed "Big O" immensely when it showed on Cartoon Network. It's a short series with a very surprising ending and a curious premise: A city where every one's memories stop at 1 year ago. No one knows why or how.

Agreed. The story was so creative and the hero was so cool! The robot girl too.

My only complaint is that it was way too short

    Ninja Scroll
    Grave of the Fireflies
Now for some words of wisdom:
Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.....hmmm wait just a minute.

For me, Record of Loddoss War, Fushigi Yuugi, Fruit Basket and Black Jack are good anime. And also, all Hayao Miyazaki's work. You'll never regret watching those anime.
