if you watched the cut scene if you rested in the cabin in every chapter, its..... horrible!

I did watch. Quite poignant actually. Brother clearly says he loves her in a non possessive way, i.e., he loves her as a person not to just smooch and make out. That is why he realizes she is not for him.
