    Default Omnillussion?

Well if you've seen the ending of this movie you would know that at the very end there is a technique that Cloud does as where he stabs his 7 swords into the ground then he jumps in the air and turns yellow and does several slashes to Sephiroth. Well a friend and I call it Omnillusion because there is tones of illusions of Cloud and reminds us of Omnislash. So what do you think and would you call it that?

Thanks Polaris for the Awesome Avy and Sig!

The official name for it is "Omnislash Version Five", and I just call it that. Although, I don't think the need for me to actually call it something has ever come up. Well, at least I'm prepared if it does.

Version five? Where're the other three? I called it Neomnislash (neo+omnislash) once.

There are only SIX swords contained in the whole of the First Tsurugi's sword compilation. One is the big ass main blade that can turn wider for battle mode and close for combining, a simple one that fits in the bottom of the main blade, two saw-like blades to fit in both sides of the upper part of the main blade, above the simple blade, and two foldable-handle blades to fit in on either side of the combined saw blades and simple blade, as if to strengthen the hold on the massive weight of the whole combined sword. Here's the pic, it clearly shows SIX swords.

And on topic, yeah, it's called "Omnislash version five". Apparently there are already four previous versions of Omnislash, the first is in-game, some from KH/KHII, and the most recent on AC.

That must be a bitch to put all those swords together.

    "Are we ready to fight?"

"No, Cloud's still trying to connect part C to part D of his sword."

i wouldn't call it an omnillussion because the all of the clouds that hit sephiroth are quite real. not to be a smartass by saying that of course.

its more like just super speed and grabbing the swords while they hover on magic and leaving behind golden magical trails.

    neo-omnislash seems about right.

Its hard to describe how the move is done because of how quickly it happens, so omnillussion is a good desription and so are most of the others.

Actually, the five versions they refer to are the five versions of the move they were toying with during the making of the movie.

Well, I actually wouldn't suggest that magic was involved at all. The super speed explains well enough how Cloud can get to each sword before it falls to the ground. My only question is "are there different strengths to all of his blades?" Why the hell does he need to keep switching between swords? Is he afraid he's gonna break one?

Well, that's just a ridiculously stupid reason to choose V5 as the name. Obviously, that means that Cloud didn't name it that if he doesn't have three other Omnis to work with because he isn't actually stupid.
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

Mercen-X, go to the link I posted above.
It explains how the whole sword(s) work, how they go together, what types, ect. He needs all those swords simply because some will work better in certain situations and it gives many back-up weapons, that can be pulled out at any time their needed.

The name Omnislash V5 is not a confirmed name, in-universe. It might not have a name in-universe. Or, Cloud might HAVE Omnislashes 2-4 in-universe as well. No one has said that he doesn't. I was mentioning the out of universe reasoning, as stated by the people making the game. Nothing more.

And I was nonetheless stating that their reasoning was still stupid if that's all that they could come up with as a name and as an explanation. Basically, if I were in an interview with them, I'd scream "Throw us a bone here!"

Why do you assume it was an after the fact naming, instead of- as the creators describe it- the name for one of a series of animations that were being considered during the development of the movie?
It really sounds like you're complaining that the name doesn't sound 'cool' enough, from where I'm sitting.
