Thread: Blue crystals, yellow crystals, red crystals...oh my!

Default Blue crystals, yellow crystals, red crystals...oh my!

I know that certain enemies will leave a red crystal. Is there anything distinugishable that the red crystals do? In my experience, they seem to behave the same way as blue crystals.

Of course, yellow crystals have a chance of transfering a Job trait. I've actually failed at properly leveraging yellow crystals. I recently considered collecting Job Points and holding them, in hopes of picking up expensive traits from other dead humans. I'm thinking of starting the game again anyway, and I'll make sure to then.

    But, the red crystals...?

Once again, Aerostar's authorative (and exhaustive!) tome on gamefaqs to the rescue.

Tier 2 monsters (Black Chocobo, Black Goblin, etc.) .... bright blue crystal
Tier 3 monsters (Red Chocobo, Gobbledeguck, etc.) ...... red crystal

So, the color doesn't tell you what the crystal does for you? Huh. I always just noticed flat blue, yellow, and red. Never noticed teal-gray or purplish-gray.

I guess I'm just used to the yellow ones coming from humans since most of the humans I've encountered are Death Corps.

    Thanks for the info, BG-57.

    Sure thing.

I suspect Aerostar hacked the game, since he knew stuff that you couldn't learn just by gameplay.
