The sequel to Duke Nukem 3D is PC gaming myth, lore and legend. 3D Realms has been supposedly working on the game for more than a decade now, yet we've seen so little about the project that it's hard to believe they'd done anything but Sudoku puzzles.

Was Sudoku even around when they started working on Duke Nukem Forever? I can't get it straight anymore.
To prove the skeptics wrong, 3D Realms president George Broussard randomly posted a thumbnail-sized screen shot from the game on the Shacknews message boards. Georgey says it's in-game, but they've also said the game will be released some day, so take it with the appropriate grain of salt:

Duke Nukem was defenately good for its time, I think it was the first FPS I had played on a LAN with my friend when we were little.

But I think they've left it far too long to release this, and now everyone's over it. =\

Most of Duke's famous lines were actually blatant ripoff of other famous lines that 3D Realms just kinda made into their own.

The shot does look really fake.

It's funny how you can look back at all the release videos from its original showing to now and how cool it looked at those times and how sweet it would've been had it come out then. Ever seen the trailer when it was on the UT99 engine? That looked hardcore.

If it gets released any time soon, it's either going to be the ultimate kick in the balls for the dev team to have it come out and suck, or it's going to be the biggest surprise ever in gaming history. Signs point towards the former, but time will tell.

I dont think 3D Realms ever tried to make those lines their own. The bubblegum line was meant just a homage to They Live.

And people seem to over look Duke, 3D Realms track record with the series is pretty good. Duke Nukem 3D is one of the best FPS ever, dont care what anybody says.

I can't see this standing up to First-Person Shooters of today. I'd love for it to surprise me, but it doesn't seem likely.
