I have facebook for the sole reason that I had to look someone up once my freshman year. I don't think I've touched it since. I don't even have a myspace account.

In short: they both suck.

Yes, they do. Myspace is good for finding people you havent seen forever. and I can't be arsed to make a facebook.

I've had one for a few months...had to wait until I got a college email to make one, and now I see all these high schoolers with one. Grr . I like that with Facebook you can still stay in touch with friends but don't have to deal with all that phishing and junk like you do with myspace.

that whole conformist/non-conformist BS claptrap raises my ire on occasion, but then i remember who the individuals involved are and how pretentious the prats seem to me...so do what you will.

that being said, i have a myspace...so far i'm underwhelmed but half of my friends are EOFFers! yay me!

Why did Facebook open itself up to the entire world? I thought that the very specific thing that made Facebook unique was the fact that it was a network for University students.

Now it's not.

Doesn't make sense to me. Do they think that by opening Facebook up to anyone and everyone, that they could compete with MySpace? They pretty much can't at this point. And I think it was silly of them to get rid of the one factor that made them unique.

It's a good way to keep in touch with old friends, and people who don't live near me anymore.

If I recall correctly, Facebook recently opened it doors to everyone. So even if you don't live in the US, you can still join. They are very different, I prefer Myspace over the other.
