Thread: Im halfway through the card walkthru, what would be lost if i didnt finish it?

Default Im halfway through the card walkthru, what would be lost if i didnt finish it?

Only reason im getting antsy is cuz i still have a backlog of rpgs im trying to catch up so im just getting a little antsy now, im enjoying it all in FFVIII more than i did before, but my question is this...what would be lost if i didnt finish the card walkthru?

Meaning...like so far ive done everything up to where im at, i should be stepping into disc 3 soon.

Im right now going to hit the chocobo forests and start these, i think im going to get Odins card first though from Centra, and one other.

But is it detrimental if i were just to press on and play the game without doing anymore cards, what kind of refined cards are there as i get further in with the card aspect of this game?

Am i really going to be missing out if i dont complete all of the card objectives in the game? thats the main question.

Keep playing. The cards that become available in disc 3 are awesome, especially the new cards you get from the QoC quest. The items that cards modify into are incredibly useful and will make you pratically unbeatable through battle and card games. Of course, it's entirely possible to stop collecting cards altogether and finish the game without much trouble.

Wait until disc 4 before getting Odin's card, seriously. I know it's a bit of a weird thing to do, but Gilgamesh is that crappy.

What do you mean by card objectives? Cards play a minor role as far as the story goes

What's wrong with Gilgamesh? He can attack at any point in battle and has 4 different attacks. He isn't great, but he certainly isn't bad. Even seeing his animation sequences is enough to get Odin before the Lunatic Pandora.
