Square never took legal action because they weren't selling it for money. And FFVI is hardly crap. Even if you're just talking about the text of the game, it still had memorable quotes.

What you think of the copyrighted material is pretty irrelevant, it's still not legal. And S-E was still making a profit off the game when the fan translations were made available, through first a PS1 port, and now a GBA port.

because you gain more HP per level at 90+ than you do at 50.

Actually this is wrong (unless they changed it for the GBA version)... Surprised no one mentioned it yet... The level in which you get the most HP is 70, from there on it goes downhill, and you end getting less HP at anything 80+ then you would get at 50
