I feel the same way - it seems to be much more obligation and show than actual love and care. But sometimes it's nice to follow tradition and plan things anyways. If Valentine's were the only day that couples did these listed romantics, I would be very much concerned.

Sporadic, unplanned romantics are always much, much better - everyone enjoys a surprise.

But yeah, us guys are generally easy to please when it comes to presents. If you can't think of anything, you can always unzip us.

We actually have to think about presents, or you complain. But I presume us guys dug our own grave and enjoy doing it...
