STUPID ZOLOM
so i just got out of midgar, & i skipped kalm town cause i want to go fight the midgar zolom first and get Beta.
but heres what happens in every fight:
1) I accidentally kill the Zolom before it casts Beta
2) The Zolom tail whips my character with the Enemy Skill Materia out of the Fight (sometimes even after the character learns Beta, and the Materia doesnt keep it !)

He removes a character from battle as a counter attack when his HP is less than 2,000. To improve the chances of the character with E.Skill staying in battle, don't attack with them.
The topic is for the rest of us to stick up for the Zolom. He called it stupid for crying out loud

The Midgar Zolom accidentally killed me.
The Midgar Zolom jumped out of my birthday cake last year for my birthday.
with the few enemy skill materia you have theres not a great chance in getting it. itll be luck that you get it not skill. just try to keep an eye on his life and when he hits you with beta wipe him out quickly. even though i wouldnt worry about it because you can get it later in the game and its not even that great to have really.

Well this should piss ya off, I have 2 enemy skill materia, level 27 on main character, and mid 20's on Tifa and Yuffie. Just got done Cosmo Canyon, and went back for beta.
Well I now have 2 characters with Beta, smacking close to 3000 pts of damage to enemies (well technicallt around 1500 each, since it obliterates all), and at 35 mp a pop, is stronger then any summon at this point.
Hint: I dunno who you have in your party, but I equipped elemental + fire in Clouds armor, and had him attack with Climbhazard as soon as Zolom started Beta. Yuffie & Tifa pounded I am estimating between 3-4K damage, effectively sending them out, or prompting Zolom to use Beta, killing whoever was left.

Me and ol' Zolom had a fist fight once, I thaught I would beat him cos he had no hands, I gave him a right hook but he grew hands and KO'd me in one!! Then he helped me up and we went and had a drink together and a laugh about the fight. Good times.
