I very much doubt that the whole "loss of relevance past 2007" deal has anything to do with FF 7. People have been after a remake for years, and thus not releasing it this year not not make a remake lose relevance. It would probably have to be something dealing with the 20th anniversary of Square/Enix (Or is it just FF's anniversary? I'm not sure).

they could be making VIIL:remasterd seeing as they couldent have been working on XII as it was cack. but a nice new remasterdver of VII will make things up to me
If they release a remake of Final Fantasy VII, I am not playing another Final Fantasy game ever.
Or, you know, they could fix the translation while they were at it if they ever do decide to remake it.
