The Tincture chest from the northwest stairs changes to a Thunder Rod during Locke's Scenario.

All the chests in that cave upgrade up to the World of Ruins.

That is pretty awesome. It's kind of like in Crystalis (which no one here probably remembers) you can get past people blocking doors using a similar trick.
The aftereffects of this glitch are pretty strange/cool though.
