The battle against Palmer is...just out there in every way.

ultima weapon was interesting and so was jenova becuase you get to fight both them a few times

when I was fighting giant worms on some beach near mideal at level 40-ish to level up and one of them got LUCKY 7's. I was pwned. what sucks worse is that I hadn't saved in over an hour.
