Yes Ragnarok is the asnswer...because you can either get the sword or the esper but if you use the esper in battle, it is a sword

shadow was a much better answer, because you have a choice to wait for him on the floating continent. If you don't, he dies, and if you do, he dies in the ending.
The ragnarok Esper and Sword are far from the same thing, even if the esper summons a sword.
