I read half this thread before I realized we weren't actually talking about hot dogs.
I eat chinese food every two weeks or so. If it's made from cat or dog, then I've just got to say "Man, that is some tasty cat or dog."
did you know they ate other peoples in Virginia (200 years ago)
cannibalism ... worse than eating cats and dogs i believe? Also, if you've read The Jungle then you probably won't want to eat another hotdog for quite awhile.
and no, i don't know if they eat cats or dogs for real.
People are much tastier than munching on animal ... sex organs.
This is rather remiscent of an old troll thread about lesbians.

:hello: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HELLO KITTY SMILEY :hello:
I know for sure Filipinos don't eat dogs. I'm not sure about other Asian countries.
I haven't had dog, but I did eat chicken feet and cow hoof while in China. Both were actually pretty good. I would like to try dog meat at some point, though.
I have heard it mentioned that cat tastes akin to that of ham, and that dog has a sickly, stringy texture to it.
However, this is only form word of mouth, and I have no real sources to back such claims.
...
i don't know what to think of that. but i was watching a Chinese show yesterday where a eunuch had served the emperor a plate of what appeared to be one. well, there are many strange things on the menu anyway, 99% of what i would not have my chopsticks touching.
HOW DO YOU KNOW FER SURE!
I for one know that Siopao (a variation of a Chinese meat bun) use Cat meat. I should know, I did the stuffing in a restaurant before.
One indigenous tribe in the Philippines I forgot the name (source:Philippine Daily Inquirer) eat dog meat for rituals. And some town drunks use dog meat (sold very cheap) for their pulutan. Pulutan is sort of like a food, like bar nuts for instance, that you eat while drinking liquor.
Happy Birthday to Me
In Laos my mom once saw a sign advertising dog as an item on the menu.
Meat is meat. We eat cows, sheep, deer, pig, all sorts of animals. I don't really see why it's a problem. I mean, sure, I myself would probably prefer not to eat cat or dog, but that doesn't mean that others shouldn't.
Oh, and in Vietnam I do know that they sell chicken embryos as food, too. My dad says that it doesn't taste bad, but you just don't want to look at it whilst eating.
