Or simply "Son of Jecht" or "Lady Yuna's Guardian". Even in X-2, people always refer to him in third person.![]()
But I believe it's pronounced "Tee-duss" since his Japanese name is Tida (meaning "Sun" in the Okinawan dialect) and his voice-actor James Arnold Taylor also pronounces it as "Tee-duss" during interviews.![]()
Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand.
Name him 'Old man'.
Old man: 'I thought I sensed my old man there.'
Basically, you can hear his name spoken if you use any word or name in FFX's script.
But with Sir Guardian, Shelinda was referring to him like it was his actual name like Yuna refers to Auron as Sir Auron. That's kinda what I meant with my post.

Call him: Guy from Kilika
Bickson
"Who are you supposed to be?"
Graav
"Ah, I remember him. Guy from Kilika."
Just play Kingdom Hearts, Wakka calls him 'Tee-dus'. Though I've heard that in KH2, Selphie calls him 'Tie-dus'. It's a mystery that will never be explained.![]()

Offline/Online
i don't care how it's properly pronounced, i'm still gonna call hbim tie-dus![]()
Why do you imprison your saviour?
i heard it on the commercial pronounced as tee-dus
maybe we should just name him "sin"
"Because he is never directly referred to by name during audible dialogue (but is referred to by name in text-only dialogue) — due to the player having the option to change his default name — the pronunciation of his name among fans is sometimes unclear. His name as featured in Final Fantasy X is pronounced "Tee-dus." This was confirmed in dialogue from Kingdom Hearts — which featured the character in a cameo — and by interviews with James Arnold Taylor, Tidus' English voice actor. More recently, this pronunciation was used by the narrator of the History of Final Fantasy featurette (included with Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition) in the portion covering Final Fantasy X. In Kingdom Hearts II, however, Selphie Tilmitt pronounces his name "Tie-dus," which has led to more confusion amongst fans."-- a quote from wikipedia
So either way, it's pronounced 'Tee-dus' mostly, but I, however, will forever call him 'Tie-dus'. After all, I named my rat after him, and we pronounce my rats name 'Tie-dus'![]()
Life is full of beauty, throughout forgotten fairytales. A tender petal, soft whispers of the night. Follow the trail, lingering shadows… let the darkness come to flight
~The people and the friends we have lost... Or the dreams that have faded... Never forget them~
This thread is way overdue for a snide remark.
