The best use I ever had of this was at the Tokyo Game Show. I saw a lot of people walking around with DSes, and when I glanced at the screen some were playing FF3 (new in japan at the time), and most were pictochatting. So I pulled mine out, and managed to link up with a few English speakers and other foreigners in the process. Useful tool when you go somewhere there is bound to be a lot of DSes in one place.
