    Default Azureus vs. µTorrent

I've heard good things about both of these programs and I'd like to switch BitTorrent clients. Which of these two is better?

Subtopic: What BitTorrent client do you use? (Did I make a topic like that already?)

EDIT: "is be" the better one. I'm awesome.

I use Azureus but it likes to suck up your memory.

Roto, I currently use U-torrent because I have to it's good it's not quite as gadget filled as Azureus but it also does not require a java applet to be present to run. I think Azureus is more detailed but U-torrent works great for me, just a little easier at times. Only hard part at first was the restrictions settings on my upload speeds and down speeds once I figured that out it was great.

I'd say to chose between the two as to which is better, personal taste and preference, U-torrent works just as well as Azureus but Azureus has a nice couple of options on it such as the swarm which allows you to see the packages being delivered in style...I used to watch that if bored for like 5 minutes and then go do something else.

Java applet is what makes azureus take up so much processing power...in relation to jowy's post.

I use Opera's built in Bittorrent Client, and haven't really tried anything else.

uTorrent will get you faster speeds if you can get it to work optimally. I think it handles DHT better or something. I like both clients, personally, and used Azureus for a pretty long time until one of my friends nagged me into switching over.

Interestingly, on my dorm internet, where they have some sort of firewall or something set up to block a lot of P2P traffic, Azureus often worked better than uTorrent. But it also crashed my connection a lot more. If you are an open connection and will be able to connect normally, uTorrent should give you better speeds, and it's way less system-intensive.

Azureus for me. Nice slick interface with loads of options and plug-ins. It might not run the fastest but that extra 3 or 4 KB per second isn't making the difference on a 200 meg file which is the average file size I download with a torrent.

I also have 1 gig of RAM so I never notice the memory hogging that it takes.

BitComet. <3 Protocol Encryption, since my ISP throttles BT.

BitComet is what I use mainly, too. On torrents that don't allow it, I use BitTornado.

Azureus is only for people who like all the flashy extras which mean.......to be honest, nothing. I only use it because Blackcats usually have torrents only able to run with Azureus. Lame, but I have to deal with it. My prefered client is Bitlord, a very under-appreciated client.
