So Necro and Leviathan, what do you have so far?

I'm reviving this thread, as I have recently revived this project, and I've been working on it with literally every ounce of my spare time. It's going very well, and I'm almost done with the entire World of Balance. I got caught up with other things last year, but I don't see myself getting distracted again.

At this point I have enough of the guide done to get you many, many hours into the playthrough. If you are interested in starting a perfect playthrough for yourself, let me know and I'll help you out as much as I can.

I will be updating this thread regularly with developments.

You should post screenshots, if you can.

Unfortunately I'm playing on my actual GBA Micro, so screens are not an option. You're welcome to come over and have a look, though.

I am not sure if I understand the item requirements for a perfect playthrough. Are you going to have 99 Ribbons in your inventory or any number of Ribbons in your inventory? If I recall correctly, they can be stolen from a monster on the Floating Continent.

I hope that you're not trying to steal 99 of them!
I believe in the power of humanity.

I have never understood the "99 of everything" mentality. One of the focuses of this playthrough will be obtaining every item in the game, but not an unnecessary amount of each item.

I'm one of the people doing this, using Necro's guide, and I have to say... It ROCKS!

Okay, so I'm only up to the point where you have to play the three scenarios (Locke's, Terra's, Sabin's), but I'll try to get further this week-end.

Getting the highest possible stats and even one of every item aren't exactly necessary either.

It will be interesting to see if we can incorporate this somehow when we reach Eyes on Plays Final Fantasy VI.

What about pics? By the way, as for the ribbons, you could bet one for each of your characters. It's not hard not to be killed by Brachiosaurs if you have Relm control them while Lock steals, and then you can flee the battle if you don't want to level up. It takes a lot of tries to have them drop the extremely useful Three Stars though (what's it called in the American version? That thing that lets you cast, like, any magic for 1 MP.)

Economizer. (In the SNES version. The GBA version changed everything and confused me.)

Gamefaqs, looking up the name of the Economizer in the GBA version.

I had a big set back a couple nights ago, due to an unsuspected glitch on the Floating Continent. I've since restarted at a save ~15 hours behind where I was, and I'm just about caught up again.

Guide is going smoothly, despite that major annoyance.
