I want a Wii for my birthday, but all of my little brothers friends (SONY FANS) said that the system sucked, so now my dad will not buy it for me.

I've had my Wii since day one and I have yet to successfully connect to the Shop Channel. Not quite sure what's wrong with it, but I certainly haven't put any effort towards solving the problem.
