Talk to the moogle right near the entrance of Nam-Yensa. He will tell you a Urutan needs help killing a monster "Urutan Eater". Kill the beast (a giant turtle on Nam Yensa). Go back to the moogle. There's a cutscene and then the berries grow on a plant right in front of the moogle. Every time you use the berries the plant grows a new set

(SPOILER)If the party defats the creature, the consequences will be severe for the Urutan who asked for help. The Urutan-Yensa consider it a crime and a dishonor to ask outsiders for help. The rogue Urutan will be executed, after a cool cutscene. He will leave behind a flower, rare in the desert. The Eskyr berries from the flower proved a great help to the travelers, weakening the Garuda guarding Raithwall's tomb. Eskyr berries can be harvested again and again after you use them, they do a strong dark attack on any fiend
