messed up

I had a corrupt save file, then after I had cussed for a while I played it and did exactly what I did the first time; but then I got another corrupted one( the one I just saved).

Has anybody had this happen to them?

Make sure your memory card isn't damaged in any way, or that your PS2 might be broken.

Well my memory card is always somewhere safe when it isn't in the PS2 and the PS2 is in almost perfect condition

I think you might have a PS2 virus.

Barring the virus post above.

Try your memory card in another PS2 with your game

Try someone else's memory card in your PS2 with FFXII
Try a different game with the same memory card... etc

Mix and match. find out which is the weak point between the three if you can. The more intermediate the error is, the harder it will be to find what is causing the corruption.

Once you nail down which part is corrupted/causing corruption.... repair/replace it...

Thats about the only advice I can think of.

Could there be dust or something between the connections of the Memory Card...?

Personally I never remove my memory card from my PS2 once I put it in, I don't see any need to.

Do NOT remove the controller or memory card while saving...

This happened to me at Raithwalls tomb. Pissed me off so bad.

Is it a Sony Memory Card? Third party memory cards have a tendency to get screwed up.

Yes... doing any kind of removing of memory cards/controllers while saving = instant corruption

It is a sony and I don't move the card while it is saving

try creating back up files and more than just 1 file and dont save at the first space trying going to save at like the 50th spot and also dont save over a corrupted file
