...I mean, what the smurf? Apart from the fact that the lyrics (especially the dead skin) have absolutely nothing to do with having the time of your life... actually, they don't mean anything at all. You'd find more sense in Jabberwocky.
I think this song is more about the experiences in your life in the past, and not worrying so much about them and just going out and having a good time.

Like "Hey good times or bad! Put it up on a shelf and go out and have some fun!"
