Seriously, after about 20 playthroughs of FFVI I've never once needed to purchase much less equip this weapon. Does it serve any purpose whatsoever?

It's a weapon. It boosts certain stats. It's better than the initial weapon. :p

There are tons of buyable weapons that are weaker than other stuff you might have at the time they become purchasable. I don't think this one is any special.

It's Relm's best brush. The Magus Rod is pretty much superior in every way, so the DaVinci Brush just seems to be forgotten.

Magical Brush and Rainbow Brush give more attack power, as does the new Angel Brush in FFVIA.
