Should rappers/hip-hop artists be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame really is a big joke. They don't induct musicians based on talent, message, or total body of work. They're inducted based mostly on marketability for the Hall of Fame. That's why some groups, after having reached eligibility, go years without being inducted.

But there's no real reason rap and hip hop artists shouldn't be inducted. There are already blues, doo wop, pop etc. musicians that have been inducted.

And Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five are kickass.

Soo true. There are so many talented bands out there that will NEVER, and I repeat NEVER get in because they aren't "cool". Rush, Marillion, Pain of Salvation, Dream Theater. To be honest, Metallica, if they hadn't released the Black album, I believe they wouldn't have gotten in either. (I know they're not in yet, but the sell-out will get them in)

I say no, obviously

Metallica doesn't gain eligibility until next year, I believe, as their debut (and in my opinion, their best) album, Kill 'Em All, was released in 83. And while I'm on the subject of the "Big Four of Thrash Metal", Slayer also gains eligibility next year. I may start a petition to get them in next year.
