Today was the first spring rain. The kind where you smell everything is damp and earthy smelling. You can practically feel the flowers getting ready to burst even further open and the grass to magically turn green and every single blossom tree ready to blossom forth.

It's kinda soothing, distant thunder soft and not turning out the lights (yet). The sky has a quality that makes it rather yellow, but not sickly yellow like those creepy summer storms.

How spring is it where you are atm? Still winter, Gone to Mexico, turning Fall, or are you already dancing around a May pole?

I would love to smell the pretty flowers but my nose is actually all clogged up and its been like that for a while. But I suppose its a good thing since you can't smell farts either.

It was a really nice spring day today. It was dusk on my drive home from the field trip, and the temperature was nice enough to crack my windows, so I got to have the nice warm thaw envelope me as I traveled the country roads. It was fantastic.

First spring rain? It rains here for most of the winter and right through spring. So, when it stops...I'll know spring isn't too far behind. It's warming up here a bit. Usually around 8 C. Sunday should get up to 11 C.

Unlike yours, our rain smelt of the half-preserved carcasses of hundreds of deer that had been burried beneath the snow and ice for numerous months. This wonderful, springy smell intermingled with the decomposing leaves and various vegetation to create a heady, poignant vapour that was...
