    Default Pre-Final dungeon sidequests

OKay, in Final Fantasy VI I am nearing the end of the game. I got every character (all 14 ) trained most of them to level 40 (still working on 4) but now I want to know what are some sidequests that I should do for this portion of the game? Please don't say anything far beyond my skill level

If you're at level 40 you can pretty much handle Kefka's Tower. So yeah, just go kill Hidon, Doomgaze, and beat the Fanatic's Tower if you haven't done so yet.

Well, yeah. The Alexander Esper is a nice thing to have, along with the treasures in there. And it's the easy way of unlocking all of Cyan's Bushido skills.

OKay, one final question. In Kefka's tower when I need to divide my guys into three teams, what teams should I use? Tell me which team is fighting whom.

Group 1 fights Ultima Buster, Group 3 fights Inferno. And then depending on how you split them up when you reach the trisection, Whoever goes down the left path fights *Doom, the middle fights Guardian and *Poltergeist, and the right path fights *Goddess.

    *I don't remember the renamed ones. =P

    Go collect all the espers!
Have you tried travelling using Figaro Castle?
Have you checked out Ebot's Rock?
Have you scaled the Fanatic's Tower?
    Have you defeated six dragons?
    Have you calmed Cyan's mind?
Have you taken Locke to explore Narshe?

And check the crazy old man's house with Gau (might need Sabin too, not sure) for a funny scene that probably should have had a point but didn't.

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Frankly, as long as you have at least one person capable of casting Ultima it doesn't really matter. I never actually bothered training all of my characters, just my main five or six, and never had any trouble. Ultima casters cast Ultima while the rest run support and/or attack as needed. Kills anything in the game.

I have two people who can cast Ultima. Setzer (don't ask why) and Celes. Terra has Ragnorock right now. I took Locke to explore Narshe pretty early on and just beat Hidon and beat Cultists Tower (my guess is in the other version fanatics tower?). Every character is level 40. I guess I just need to find Deathgaze again and hopes he doesn't flee and do the Odin and Doma side-quests.

His HP doesn't restore after he flees battle, so it takes a few encounters to take him down for good.

I recommend not using Ultima at all for the sake of a challenge, except perhaps against the new bonus bosses. It's nearly universally agreed that Ultima is ridiculously overpowered/undercosted, and the fact that any character can get it exacerbates this. Also avoid using economizers.
