Did Galuf actually have children?

So you get to play her grandaughter, but you never hear of his daughter/son... did he just have a grandaughter straight away? or did I miss some info in the game? or is it just a random plot thing they left out because FF V doesnt have that much of a plot anyway?

A soldier in Bal Castle explains that her parents did indeed die while trying to find a dragon in Dragon Valley or whatever it is called. He doesn't say if one of them was Galuf's child though.

But it seems common in Japanese fiction for a kid to call someone 'grandfather' who's not technically their relative, but rather an older 'father figure' type. Kind of like how lots of kids in the English-speaking world have 'uncles' who aren't the siblings of their parents.

Having said all that, I see no strong reason for thinking that Galuf's not Karurileru's genuine grandfather.
