It isn't lying, it is called reverse psychology and it is a highly useful device. See, when you tell someone not to do something, they tend to want to do it. If you tell someone not to push the big red button, without any explanation as to what would happen were said button to be pressed, the person is more likely to push it.
I am as big a liar as everyone else is slow to jump to conclusions. Which is to say, not at all.
