>>> I have been wondering about FF1 and his popularity among the American and Japanese FF fans..
Squarenix has already made various FF1 remakes, so I think the game is more popular in Japan.
What do you think?
America
Japan
Japan is my guess.
I have no factual data except that I don'tthink it's popular at all in America.
Of course FF1 is more popular in Japan. It's common sense. I mean, the Japanese take days off on launch days. Like, half the freakin' country. This suggests to me that FF1 is much more popular in it's native Japan than elsewhere.
There is no signature here. Move along.
Obviously Japan. Oh and by the way, thanks for thinking only two countries exist in the world.
There are a lot of FF1 fans in non-Japan countries too. I've gotten emails from probably thousands of people over the years, from all over the place.
If the remakes weren't making money, they wouldn't keep releasing them over and over and over. Someone must be buying them.
Obviously Japan, but in Europe it should've sold like hot cakes and cream buns on special offer, because we'd never had an official release of it before. I'd played the ROM and liked it, but several of my friends were instead introduced via the PSone remake and really liked it.
I'm not actually sure how well it did over here.
The series in general is revered in Japan, but I can recall a good number of people I knew playing it when it was first released for the NES in the late '80s.
