I'm nominating Rurouni Kenshin and GTO. Despite lackluster endings both series are just too damn good to forget about. I'd also almost recommend Samurai Champloo, if it wasn't for the fact that there were a few too many episodes in that show that felt like a reloaded episode of Cowboy Bebop.
