I have to do this - I went to high school in Maryland.
Anyway, this is not the fantasy thread; this is the actual tournament thread to discuss the games and players and how much Duke sucks. Emphasis on the last part.

Duke blows. And Gonzaga losing really smurfs up my bracket because I had them going to the Elite Eight. Still have complete faith in my Final Four picks, especially A&M, they played like champs.
My dad picked ORU and Penn for his bracket. Don't ask me. And he had Duke (and had them winning the next round, too). He was cheering along with me for Duke to go down, though.
I didn't join in because I haven't paid much attention to college basketball since high school. But I'm with my dad now and we watched a lot of today's games, and Duke losing has made me happy. Did I mention that Duke sucks?
I feel like I'm browsing Fark!
Thanks for reminding me, Jowy. The <a href="http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=2675510">Fark thread</a> also makes me happy.
Although now I really have trouble caring what happens in the tournament. Maryland going far would be good, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'll just keep rooting for the upsets.
EDIT: Duke sucks.
I didn't want them to win, but picked them to win a game. Looking back, I did watch the CAA Final between VCU and GMU, and probably should have picked VCU based on the performance I saw then. But 13/16 on day one picks, with all three blips coming on teams that I didn't pick to win another game, isn't half bad. I didn't enter the EoFF pool, though I should have.
I was happy to see Xavier come back. Dang Zags didn't do me justice, though. Indiana hadn't impressed me this year.
Freaking Old Dominion.
VCU and Maryland lost. Now I have little desire to even watch the games.
P.S. Duke sucks.
I was proud of myself for placing Vandy in the Sweet 16, but wtf @ UNLV over Wisconsin.
man I wish Xavier had beaten Ohio State.
And Wisconsin was absolutely horrible. Big Ten basketball sucks.
All the teams I had any local interest in (Ga Tech, Wash State, Gonzaga, Xavier) lost already. I guess I will cheer for Oregon. And Memphis is good.
Oh man, I didn't see much of that game but when I saw the scores I was cheering Xavier on big time. A 1 seed that many people picked to win everything getting knocked out early? That would've been amazing. I don't even know where Xavier is.Originally Posted by eestlinc

My bracket cried a little tonight. I went 12-4 in the second round, but had my first future-round loss (I had UT beating UNC to make the Elite Eight). My final four is still there, though G-Town and A&M will have to play much better to make it much further. Yesterday nearly gave me a heart attack.
Xavier is in Cincinnati. And Ohio State refuses to play either Xavier or the University of Cincinnati because it doesn't want to get beat. OSU finally played Cincy this year, knowing that Cincy had a horrible team. The last two times they played before this year were the national championship games in 1961 and 62, both won by Cincinnati. OSU had repeatedly refused to play Cincy before this year.
This tournament was only the fifth time OSU had played Xavier. And the coach of Ohio State left Xavier to coach OSU after taking Xavier to the elite eight three years ago.
But I'm certain OSU will lose to Tennessee, or Memphis, or Texas A&M.
Egads, my second round picks were pretty shaky. At least all of my elite eight are still in the tournament.
USC has really surprised me. Granted, I've never really been that impressed with Texas (with the obvious exception of Durant), but I didn't even think USC would make it to the second round. I think they'll give UNC some good competition.
