I don't think the lack of blood and gore makes a game kiddy. Besides, from what I've seen so far, Final Fantasy XII has a pretty dark war story, and the opening war sequence is quite graphical too. FF Versus XIII had quite a dark trailer too.

Well, I tell you one thing, If they were to put more realistic things like sexual content, They sells would go through the roof because not only they will still be getting the same crowd, they would be pulling in more people. And trust me, these kids would be eatting their games up like Eminem CDs, regardless or rating because they don't give a damn about whether their too young or not! As a matter of fact, they should put better music in it aswell! Man if you put a Kiss song on for a fight man it will be great! Or a DMX song for a fight! And some R&B for some love scenes. I'm tell you guys, it's time for a change in RPG games. And even if it's not FF, I will bring it!!!
I actually would like to see some blood during a certain Aeris part in FF7, because a huge-ass sword that's nailed through a person's body should force SOME bood to gush out; but in that scene there's nothing.

To tell you the truth, it looks extremely stupid.

Many other FF games that aren't kiddie-

    FFVI
    FFII
    FFIV

    Yeah.

Edit: And more the kiddie (FF3, FF5, FF1) Just means that they are more fun than the darker titles.

Try that comment again without the fanboyism

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

to be fair FF titles below VII i dont put into the catagory because the graphics werent good to show much blood i think you could see some in FFVI at one point but its been so long its hard to remember.

but as far FFIX, FFX and XII there were times where blood should have been drawn and yet they decided not to show it.

btw i still love all 3 of those games.

In FFVI, it may not have shown "blood", but it showed indication that there was blood, such as Mr. (SPOILER)Leo gets (SPOILER)stabbed by Mr. (SPOILER)Palazzo.

Then mentioned a guy in FFX get frickin' split in half, and people lying in frickin' pools of frickin' blood.

    FFVIII had meh amounts.

FFVII had the trails and some cuts.

FFIX shouldn't have blood, otherwise it would ruin the lighthearted feel that made it distinctive.

FFXII was a bit more violent.

    FFX-2 was rather suggestive.

    FFXI has some blood.

I don't want blood, blood is nauseating and I turn irrational when I see it.

Sex, meh, no. It would ruin it.

    Drugs? Meh, not really.

I really don't play much games over an M rating simply because I'm not a fan of graphical stuff. I like how FF is, only showing blood and sex when it is partially necessary.

Man tell me about it. I miss all the burning, looting, bleeding and shooting of yesteryear. I mean, how awesome was it when Cecil tore Dr Lugae in half and we got that awesome scene where his guts were spilling out all over the ground? That was brilliant, true final fantasy.

(SPOILER)I am of course talking rubbish, since FF has always been kiddy-centric

well, FF12 is full of murder and dark themes and i was suprised to find it was a 16+.

some have a slightly kiddy feel but its not a big problem. SE have taken all of this into account and they wont make some massive mistake. its as kiddy as they want it to be.

It dosen't have to be a sexual bloodfest to be deemed "mature." Take most movies, you guys adore them for maturity and it's about as inapropriate as a Barney episode.

Technically, all blood does is shock you with its gore. It can't move you psychologically, so it moves you by throwing blood in there. What's so mature about that?

Sex? Sex, meh, I don't think its necessary, but that wouldn't stop from playing.

    Drugs? Same as above.

Thing is, maturity isn't the content, but the actual game. Blood dosen't create horror, sex dosen't create romance, and drugs dosen't create drama, HORROR creates horror, ROMANCE creates romance, DRAMA creates drama, and MATURITY creates maturity, so if Final Fantasy turns into a sex-infested bloodshow, which I hope dosen't happen, it would ruin the already mature setting, content will just make it well, sick.

If anything, FF I-V were the most kiddy. But being kiddy doesn't make those FF Games bad since it doesn't interfere with the gameplay.

The kiddier FF games seemed the most fun. But I don't think FF2 was really kiddy. It had alot of dying and stuff.
