Tips in getting Excalabur?

I've been back & forth at the chest, Diamond Armlet equipped, un-equipped, party changes, different routes. ALL I GET IT MONEY AND/OR NO EFFING CHEST AT ALL.

Found at the Great Crystal on Giruvegan on a chest inside a chest, right by a trap and a Shadonir guarding it

You have to make both chests spawn.

You have to beat the monsters guarding it. All of them.

I'm having the same problem. Even when both chests have spawned I still have not gotten Excalibur.

You only get Excalibur when both chests spawn but even then, you have a 1/16th chance of it being Excalibut iirc

I got it!

I left, saved & retried, got it on my first go. Strange.

If you are not getting it when the second chest spawns you must be trying BEFORE you get the Treaty Blade. You need that first. After that if the second chest spawns you have a 100% chance of gettin it. I just had trouble spawning the second chest.

I must be insane then, because I got the treaty blade long ago and I seem to remember the second chest spawning multiple times yet no Excalibur.

Erm, where do you get the treaty blade from and where exactly is the Exacilbur sword (chest) located in the Great Crystal?
Is the Exacilbur at the very beginning, where those two cats are guarding one chest which is covered by a trap?

Ok Here is how you going to get Excalibur.

The location of Excalibur is in Map 2 in “The Great Crystal”. The location is
a bit complicated as there is no mini map showing in the map screen. Anyway I
will try to guide you guys as simple as I can.

1. Follow the link (Thanks for the great map) and it’s the “T” straight down
to the Map 2 word (100% confirmed).
2. It is in the middle of a trap treasure chest. But before that you have to
face 3 Shadnir (Horse like monster) One is guarding the trap treasure and two
more will join in as soon as you step in the central area.
3. To increase of your chance to get the Excalibur equip your leader with
Diamond Armlet.
4. In case you if u didn’t get it on your first try from the treasure chest
try back track 3 screen (not 2 screens like the monster to reappear and
remember you don’t have to go all the way to the save point which is quite
far) and the chest will reappear.
5. Keep getting the chest until you get the Excalibur. Also remember you
cannot get more than one Excalibur even you try to reload or restart like the
other treasure.
6. You cannot get it on you first visit through story mode and of course you
*can* get it before getting *Ultima Esper*.

OK, I really have no idea where the Excalibur is even located in the great Crystal. Can someone just tell me which level it is on. (Which Way stone--8,7,6,5,4,3,2, or 1)

It's not. You have to go tot he top of the crystal. You either walk the other direction to #9 or take the #8 waystone to #9 then #10 to #20.

Sad enough...I have ventured into the top part of area and to my dismay i have witnessed the power which will annihilate me. No one even told me that the fiends are around 61 here!

Are there any more requirements to make the second chest spawn? My levels are 60+, I can easiliy handle the foes in the area, I went back and forth 3 screens+ for at least 8 times and all I got so far is one chest in the middle of the room. Is this normal?

EDIT: Nevermind, I obtained it now. Was the trick to go to the area with the chest, NOT open it, go back 3 screens and come back to make the second chest spawn? Or is it totally random?
