I have Pearl and I'm also male. And I'm playing as the female character. xD The male character's hat is atrocious...I have Pearl (yes I am a dude and I have Pearl)
I am surprised at the length of this game. I normally don't count on Pokemon games for extensive playtime of the main story, but I've been playing for 15 hours and only have three gym badges!
I am also going to reset my clock to catch Drifloom (sp alert). Last Friday I was apparently not far enough in the story to catch it (it didn't appear in front of the Valley Windworks, at any rate). I can't go much longer without Fly. I also caught a Wooper so I can Surf when that becomes available.
