People who matter keep saying nothing will change, nothing to fear, etc, however, EoFF will also never be the same as it was, either. EoFF, to me, was an online home, now it's just another website added to a person's list of gaming websites, though I still cherish it, and still come here, it simply won't be the same as it used to be.

Jesus Christ. If I recall correctly there was once a time when Cid himself had other gaming sites alongside EoFF; what difference did it make? If you come here, and you consider yourself a part of the community, then you should know that this place is ENDEMIC. It doesn't make a smurfing iota of difference whether spdude owns the rest of the internet or not. spdude's SAID there's not going to be any drastic changes made. If anyone really comes to EoFF everyday consciously thinking, "Ah, Eyes on Final Fantasy. That lovely website and those forums owned by Cid!" then I'm going to laugh. Yes, it was created and owned by Cid. He did a great job, we thank him But now he can't afford to keep it up any longer, and so he sold it. He hasn't turned us over to Beelzebub, for God's sake. Once you get out of this thread and once the announcement changes at the top, most members'll probably forget that they cared so much about it anyways.

Uhm I didn't mean to sound so harsh, but I just think it's silly to say that EoFF is any less cherishable now than it was last week, when Cid still owned it. 'tis all.

Let's see.. I don't come to EoFF knowing Cid owns it, its the community as a whole. As I mentioned, to me, EoFF is an online family, and that family consists of certain, dedicated, reliable staff members that are known among the community. Your example of Cid owning other websites of his own is different, his community wasn't sold, he was the one in charge and doing what's needed to be done.

Eyes on Final Fantasy was a single website with a big name, it was quite the popular Final Fantasy site, it wasn't advertised with multiple others, it was a solo act concentrating on one goal.

As shown above, spdude shows his work together, he names his multiple owned websites, and doesn't give special credit to specific ones, this is where EoFF will lay, as just another one of those websites. My point is, it lost some of it's strength.

Ask yourself this, if it wasn't such a big deal, why did it even need to be revealed to the community? Cid is still doing his same old job on the website, he simply can't pay for it. That's all fine and everything, but why would the community need to know if nothing is going to change besides a new name as Admin? This easily could've been kept between staff members and didn't need to be released to the public, sure, it was nice to let us know, but it was unnecessary.

holy smurfing drama kids. The site is owned by a new owner, not pwned by a new regime. If you trusted Cid to run the site, trust him with his selection of a new host, as selling was hard for him to do, and he had several canidates to choose from.

Agreed, here I am trying to have a discussion, and people keep saying rude things. I don't see the need to be like "Jesus Christ." "holy smurfing drama kids"(?) Can't people be serious instead of lame attempts at being funny?

Am I supposed to feel sorry for having an opinion? It's funny how people are saying things like "trust Cid" etc, and yet I've clearly said I'm staying here, so isn't it a tad obvious I do? Doesn't justify that it was right, though.

I'm not ASKING for people to object to me, it's my opinion, and honestly, I don't care what others have to say about it, especially if its just 1 or 2 sentences that show obviously no involvement in actually trying to have a discussion with me.

When was I "baring" anyone's opinion? I was simply replying due to the attitude in Resha's post, and you mentioned being "kids" in yours, when, you don't have much say about that.

Internet is funny nowadays, if someone wants a serious talk, they're suddenly either emo or a dramaqueen, pathetic, really.

I understand that, but I can still relate some of your feelings, cause I like this site as well, and it is like a nice internet lounge. You can talk about anything that crosses your mind, and you are always expected to get good positive answers back. So yeah, I love this site as well, and it's different from any other one I've been on.

kids is not meant to be insulting. hardly rhetoric. Don't take it for more than it is worth. And no, I was just saying that all this panic (not just you, as I noted earlier) and drama (lynx leaving etc) is near pointless and shallow. "if they did not trust Cid to find a good buyer, how did they trust him to run the site" was basically my thought being potrayed in my post. It was not just directed at you, but rather a surmounting ammount of drama and childish behavior. (which is not bad, not good, it just is. take it with salt eh?)

as for the barring of other's opinions, when you return fire and debate or hash something out, especially when dealing with sheer opinion, you are barring or hindering formed opinions. Simply put, by expressing any opinion you are baring opinions (assuming there is a contradicting opinion on the table); so it is no shock at all that flames are already being tossed.
