Poor Kane, no one laughed. But I did, somewhere deep down inside!

    I laughed at it.

I thought it was supposed to be almost impossible to delete IE? That's why nerds bend over backwards trying to do it?

I must be behind on the times.

Why do they try to get rid of it? Can't they live with it being on their system and just using a different browser?

I guess the hard thing is to get rid of it and still make XP work.

It wasn't IE that was deleted, it was windows files, and the emulators were in windows temp file and out side of the file as well. It was a big oopsies. Also, the reason IE wasn't working is because I redid my computer which made it think that I didn't have an ISP, and IE was trying to make me get one. I got around it though, by accepting an offer and then declining. It finally decided to let me on.

In the temp folder, you mean? Why on earth were they in there?

I couldn't tell you, I had just downloaded them and I couldn't find them, so I downloaded them two more times before I did a file search and found them in the Windows folder and the TEMP folder.

Internet Explorer was trying to make you sign up for an ISP?

Are you sure that wasn't MSN Explorer? That's kinda weird.

When you install Windows, as soon as you open IE for the first time it will give you the "New Connection Wizard". It's not trying to make you sign up for an ISP, it's trying to set up a DUN connection for your computer.

You can try it out for yourself: start > run > "inetwiz".

I suppose many inexperienced users don't understand that they're connected to the modem over a regular LAN.
