So...just out of curiosity, what's the longest kill-chain you've gotten, and with what?
Mine so far is 19 wolves.

19? That's kinda low for a kill chain. I've gotten 150 skeletons before getting bored.
Mine was around 150 on Lhusu mines skelies. 19 wolves is pretty good for the beginning of the game.
Some people get to 999 at Henne mines or Stillshrine of Mirian
Toss me into the 150 in the Lhusu mines category. It's pretty easy to chain those skeletons forever and I did it a couple of times early on for some cash.
120 Urtan Yensa I loved killing those litle gits.
Like million Urutan-Yensas. Can't remember the count but had 13 lvls for everyone with them. '(Had to leave my PS2 on for 2 nights.)

Around the 300's for the Lhusu Skeletons

With the Neglamuur loop? A couple thousand (though it stopped counting at 999).
Legitimately? 250-something skeletons in Lhusu.
My apologies, for some reason I thought you would have had it longer. It was arrogant of me to believe that. Still, if you've only had it two day, then its not too late to escape this game! Quickly! Before its fun gameplay overpowers the dull story! (Or, like, don't.)
About 250 for the Wolves/Hyenas in Dalmasca Estersand/Giza Plains. This was before Giza goes into Wet/Dry cycles.
421 for the little people at the Ogir Yensa or what not.
Well, highest yet would be 170 in Lhusu Mines from Skellitons.
But the HARDEST Chain was a 70-75 chain By doing Werewolfs in Giza plains. The hard parts was going to and fro from 2 screens (North, getting mobbed by Urstirx and wolfs and the like) And the werewolfs, Thier lvl ranges from 19 to 22!
It took me a chain of 352 Cerberus's and Tatarus's to get 4 Hell-gates flames in order to make Tournesol.
