hahaha...I loved scene with Laguna and Julia in the Hotel room.

Laguna nods his head weird when he says "Hmm...must be tough!" It's funny to just leave it like that a minute without advancing the text.

Please keep in mind that this thread was created last year. I think that the scene mentioned in the opening post — Edea addressing and belittling the crowd — was an awkward scene.

Because Squall was thinking to himself about Seifer, death, and the past tense, and he lashed out at the other characters while they were only sitting around and talking about the situation at hand.

There is a screenshot of the scene in this topic and it does a play by play of the entire scene, and everyone has very awkward dialogue to the point that the situation would be very funny if it were played out in real life.

Shumi: I'm sorry. You need to pay me 5000 Gil in advance to use this draw point, and if there's no Ultima there, tough. No refunds.

    Squall: Eh ok....

    It should have been...

Shumi: I'm sorry. You need to pay me 5000 Gil in advance to use this draw point, and if there's no Ultima there, tough. No refunds.

Squall: Or, how about you get out of my way, before I shove this Gunblade where the sun don't shine. And if there's nothing there, I'll stick my Gunblade there anyway.

Shumi: Ok! Please God let there be something there......

Squall: Oh Shumi! Guess what was nowhere to be found?

I can understand why they charged money to use the Draw Point from a gameplay perspective, but I agree and I think that it could have been presented better.

I mean, i really like the game and story but the basketball court scene was a bit too.... i dunno. It seemed like they could have done better, the whole "we all grew up together and GFs omg"

Another point was some of rinoa's speach. "MEANIE" comes to mind, i hope to god in japan this was a better word choice. I just like to curl up in the fetal position and pretend she called him an ass like most others would.

Many of us didn't pay attention to the story because it was an incoherent mess.

    As for the original question...

Orphanage plot twist, hands down. Although the whole game was nothing but dumb moments one after another, that plot twist topped them all.

Irvine: By the way, we're all from the same orphanage, and Edea is our Matron.
    Zell: Aw, how nice!

This is from Final Fantasy VIII In A Nutshell, a radioplay about Final Fantasy VIII.

This summarizes my thoughts on the orphanage plot twist.

Am I really the only one who thought that seen was one of the BEST Final Fantasy moments ever?

    The only two perhaps

Faaaaar too much of a coincidence. And I seem to remember Rinoa acting out "feeling left out" as "acting like a spoilt brat" didn't help either!
