You probably pushed some wax further down... If it keeps on bothering you talk to your doctor, there's some liquid thingy you can squirt on your ears to melt the wax and make it come out dripping (yuck!).
You could also try cotton swabs soaked with baby oil. That is how I keep mine and my kids ears clean

Maybe a 3-4 times a week.. I tend to forget cleaning them.
I clean them almost every night.
You could always try washing yourself, showers are--Oh crap someones said that joke...

Mineral oil, a few drops of that in your ear and it helps clean it. Or at least that is what my grandma would do. The reason you use oil is because wax is non-polar and water is polar so it does not work. There is a certain degree of attraction between non-polar molecules that allow the oil to break down the wax (in other words "like dissolves like").You probably pushed some wax further down... Cotton swabs are pretty useless.

I usually clean my ears every morning. Sometimes I forget when I'm extra tired or rushing....

i swab them with q-tips after every bath, but i had to use wax removal at least once.
