    Default NFL Draft 2007

Who else is watching? How do you feel about your team's pick (if they've actually picked) so far?

Personally, I don't know much about Patrick Willis, but I know we can use some help on defense and so I'm pretty pleased with the pick. It would've been nice to get Adam Carriker, but y'know. That's why I'm a fan. xD

Also, Brady Quinn = Shane Falco. I'm pretty convinced of this by now. Passed over for Ted Ginn Jr. by the Dolphins? Man.

Suprised Quinn has yet to be taken. I really have no idea who the Bears will take. Could be a reciever, a tight end, a D-end a d-tackle, a saftey, a linebacker. I'm guessing a dt or linebacker. I've heard rumers of addressing a 3rd running back later in the draft.

I'm so pissed the Dolphins didn't take Quinn. God, we need a quarterback. I'll be sulking about this for a while. There was some talk about the Bears trading some picks to try and get Quinn, but Cleveland's got him now, so that's out.

    Masterful work by the Cowboys.

All in all, they got the player they wanted (Spencer), and traded this year's 3rd-rounder and 5th-rounder for Cleveland's 1st next year, which could be a top-5 or -10 pick.

Here's hoping Jarrett drops to the 2nd round.

Bears got a nice TE in Greg Olsen so I'm happy.

I am now actively rooting against the Browns.

Rookie quarterback, rookie left tackle, inexperienced wide receivers... that could get ugly.

Darren McFadden makes my pants feel funny.

Excellent work, Jerry Jones! You got us a bonus 1st round draft choice for 2008!

Browns fans, be VERY thankful to Jerry Jones for saving your franchise. Romeo Crennel should be thankful that Jones also saved his job (I did hear talk of him possibly getting fired last season).

What shocked me the most, however, is the fact that the Eagles traded with one of their own division rivals.

Speaking of which, the Eagles got gypped! They give up their first round pick to their own division rivals, getting Dallas' 3rd & 5th round picks and the 2nd round pick Dallas acquired from Cleveland. Now, while Dallas subsequently used Philly's first rounder on Anthony Spencer, Philly, on the other hand, WASTED their pick on a quarterback, when they are already stacked at that position to begin with. This was a highway robbery in favor of America's Team, no question about it.

And remember when I brought up the player conduct issue in another thread, involving Chris Henry and Adam "Pacman" Jones? Well, Chris Henry and Pacman Jones will be teammates...at least in name. The Titans have used their 2nd round selection to draft a Running Back out of the University of Arizona by the same name as the disgruntled Cincinnati Bengals wideout.

Yes, yes, I saw this. I suppose we wanted Meriweather, the Safety that went to the Patriots.

I have no idea why Andy Reid is thinking, because we are fine defensively, in my opinion. However, what we do need is another Running Back to help soften the load for Westbrook, or a Wide Receiver, because he does everything. But he can't do it for too much longer.

    What a shameful waste indeed.

If we get slaughtered by the Cowboys this season, what will I say to my school-mates? I've got 50 dollars riding on the well being of my poor Eagles.

Tell your school-mates, "Those damn Cowpukes robbed us on Draft Day!" ("Cowpukes" is a derogatory slang term for the Cowboys among Eagles fans, Giants fans, Redskins fans, 49ers fans, and Texans fans, since those people hate the Cowboys.) I hear Anthony Spencer is an excellent pass-rusher. Spencer, along with either DeMarcus Ware, Greg Ellis (if healthy), or both, will spark the rebirth of the Doomsday Defense in due time. Philly's O-line had better step it up an extra notch, or else McNabb is in a world of .

This is exactly why a team should never, ever trust a division rival in a trade.

They didn't rob us so much as we gave it to them willingly. My main beef is with the Pats for ruining our plans, not that it was my plan in the first place, since our secondary is fine in the first place, although Dawkins is getting older.

I don't have any qualms about defense, as long as injury does not provide. What we do need is, as you said, improvement on the offensive line, and with RB and WR positions, as we don't have anyone there. We don't need playmakers or major scorers, as our thing is to spread the ball around, just someone, anyone to take the pressure off, or at the very least, a new person to play fresh and screw up the enemy offense.

My Broncos did good. Didn't get any big name players, but we filled our holes at DE. Moss and Crowder are great athletes so hopefully they can learn out system and make an immediate impact. Also, we got Marcus Thomas in the 4th. I know character issues have become such a big deal now, but if he didn't get busted for pot he'd be a top 10 pick. If he gets over his personal issues, that will be an absolutely ridiculous steal.

Also, holy crap the Patriots have Randy Moss. Tom Brady has been asking the management to get him a solid receiving corps for a while now, and Moss has been asking for a solid quarterback.

Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, and Wes Welker that's a mighty fine corps. Brady must've jumped for joy Sunday.

If Randy Moss even becomes 3/4th's of the player he was with the Vikings, and in addition to a generally huge offseason for the Pats, they will be the team to beat next year for the Superbowl.

Well, it was Al Davis' fault that Moss never got a solid QB in Oakland. In the last two or three drafts, Davis passed up on a total of FOUR potential franchise quarterbacks in the draft, including Ben Roethlisburger, Phillip Rivers, Matt Leinart, and Jay Cutler. Davis even admitted the mistake going into the draft, and promised he would not repeat it again in this year's draft.

Well, Moss got himself a solid QB with the first overall pick. But that didn't change the fact that he was flat-out not happy with the Raiders, which is sad, because I thought the Raiders would be a PERFECT fit for Moss, given the Raiders' history of colorful characters and bad boys (if you wanna call 'em that), such as Lester Hayes, Ken Stabler, John Madden, and Fred Biletnikoff, as well as players whose careers went downhill only to join the Raiders and have their careers reborn, such as Jim Plunkett.

Now, while Moss in the Pats' WR corps looks good on paper, I think Moss' presence there might cause some problems between Moss and his fellow receivers, as well as Moss and Brady, and possibly Moss and Belichick, given Moss' reputation. He may get upset over not having the ball thrown to him very much, which would be understandable, since Donte Stallworth is also on that receiver corps. Now I wonder which 2 Wideouts will be starting this season. Probably Moss and Stallworth.

I think the Pats' acquisition of Moss carries the same risk/reward factor as T.O. going to the Cowboys last season.

I guess the Pats said one problem and they'll cut him.

And we know they will not be afraid to do so. The Pats will still be a playoff team without Moss, so if he wants to play for a good team he'll have to be a good boy. The Pats are loaded this year.

It will be interesting to see what the Raiders will do with Russell. At least they are moving towards something and are worth watching. Also, how the HELL did the last place team get the hardest schedule in the league the following year?
