I'd say there are a lot of under appreciated adventure games like the Myst series (more so with the later additions (III-V)), Grim Fandango and Dreamfall. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I hardly see any of these games talked about and when I mention them to friends and on other forums, no one knows what they are.
