Well what is your fav guest?
Heres a lowdown about the good and bad points of each:

Larsa:
Good: Health, and a good AI at killing stuff ASAP.
Bad: Bit weak, and if over leveling can drag EXP alot
Vossler:
Good: Brute Power, Nice Greatsword...
Bad: You only get him 2 times... and Exp drag.
Reddas:
Good: Helps you in a fiddle. Supporter
Bad: Not many times do you get him.

I think reddas is good because he can get some good combos its a shame hes a bit slow though
Vossler. He's an amazing guy, and I wanted him on my team permanently.

Reddas was my favourite, though Larsa was pretty good as well. I was generally unimpressed with Vossler.
The total amount of EXP gained from killing a monster is divided amongst all party members - even if one of them can't actually level. It's correct that they don't "gain" anything, your guys just get less because there's +1 to the normal active party.
Reddas was my favorite. That could also because I barely remember Vossler's contribution to the party, since I had him in my party sometime around January or February, and I just completed the game earlier this week.

Although "half a judge" would be better. :/
