i don't lock my doors if i'm in my house....i don't expect anyone to enter my house uninvited, so i honestly have no idea. if i'm in my bed and someone comes into my house as an intruder, i suppose i'd take the deadliest thing i can find in my room at the time...i have a big black statue of a cloaked figure...that's all i've got...if i was able to get out of my room..i'd go for the gun cabinet at first instinct...but that's just asking for all kinds of trouble...so i'd probably use the baseball bat instead.

I've got a hockey stick and a set of golf clubs. I can dual-wield them to deadly effectiveness on my mirror.

Pocket knife with a two-inch blade followed by my random wooden stick that I have for some reason.

I have a baseball bat, tennis racket, a crosse, and a hunting knife so unless they have a gun I should be able to defend myself.

when I read the thread title from the index, the first thing that I thought of was the little new testament I got when I was sprinkled as a baby xD It's under my pillow now!

If I'm worried about intruders, I don't grab a weapon. I guess it would be wiser if I did, but I prefer to rely on my quiet sneakiness!

I use the machete under my bed. (You can never be too protective in asia!)

I keep a heavy duty (metal) Maglight next to my bed. Couple feet long and suitable for use as a club. Failing that I could use my bare hand or grab the aluminum table at the foot of my bed.

these can be found near my bed:

*army knife...my brother found it and gave it to me. useful as a paper trimmer/letter opener.
*12'' steel pipe...i have a drawing desk, so this is where the pipe came from.
