Post You want FFTA2 details? Here they are.

April 5, 2007 - The new Final Fantasy Tactics game doesn't begin with a snowball fight. But like its predecessor, it does start off in the real world as the main character, Luso, finds himself locked away in a library as punishment for pranks pulled at school just before the start of summer break. He writes his name in an old book and gets sucked into the fantasy world of Ivalice.

A closely guarded secret project when it was announced late last year, Square Enix is finally sharing details on Final Fantasy Tactics A2 with the Japanese press, in anticipation of the game's 2007 release (and possible playable debut at the upcoming Square Enix party in May). Our latest look comes from Famitsu, who also scored an interview with the game's production staff, including director Yuichi Murasawa (formerly the menu designer on FFXII).

The world of Ivalice should be familiar to Square Enix fans, as it's the same world that was featured in the original Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and in Final Fantasy XII. As prominently shown in FFXII, Ivalice is a world with a variety of races and classes, including Hume, Moogle, Viera and Bungaa. The different races will be featured in A2.

Unlike FFXII, though, the storyline in A2 is meant to offer the feeling of a "light adventure," Murasawa disclosed to the magazine. Upon being sucked into the world of Ivalice, Luso merely decides to do a little adventuring rather than immediately thinking that he has to go home.

Square Enix is working on some new twists to up the strategy in the game's grid-based battle system. The number of character jobs has increased. Famitsu provides a look at a samurai-like job and a magic knight, although the actual identity of these two is still a mystery.

The game also promises some tough boss fights, with some bosses so big that they take up multiple squares. Some large-scale standard enemies will appear too, revealed Murasawa. These large foes have special abilities that make approaching them dangerous.

You'll also find a bit more to do outside of battle. To the original's world map, A2 adds new "area maps." These regional maps feature multiple battle locations and a town, where you can gather information and purchase items and equipment. The world map itself will, as with the original, feature enemy clans moving about. Murasawa says that we can expect some other points of interest as well.

The lid is now off on A2, so expect further details, hopefully with screenshots, to start appearing shortly.
'Light adventure' may turn people off, but remember, FF XII: RW was looked upon by many as a second Mystic Quest when SE announced it to be accesible for new gamers, but look how that game is turning out in terms of story and gameplay.

Also, I have this little rumor about judges, but I cannot confirm it. I posted it in my other topic as well:

It appears that you can have a judge in your clan! If you summon the judge, you have to obey his laws. In return, the judge protects your characters from dying permanently after 3 turns (like in FFT). If you don't want to obey laws, that's fine, don't summon the judge. The laws of the judge you summon only apply to you, not your enemies. Your enemies of course, can also summon a judge on their side, but their laws do not apply to your team.

Well, if this Judge rumor is true, I think it'll solve people's problems with the laws.

I personally don't care if it's a "Light" Adventure, just as long it's good.

Magic Knight, huh? I hope it's based on the FF V job

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Sounds too detailed to be true. I don't buy it.

Well I don't know, have you seen a judge yet in the battle-screens? Apparently these judge-rumors come from an interview with whoever is leading this project.

Elpizo, I love all this info, I really do, but can we please just put it all in one thread? I know you don't want to double post, but I would rather have double posting than all these threads. Ask a mod to sticky one of the threads and combine them all. All the info in one place = good.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

If I'm not going to prison for using a smurfing fire spell, it'll spend quite some time in my DS slot.

So am I. I'll hopefully be getting a DS for my birthday, so when it comes out I'll be prepared.

I don't enjoy the lighthearted excursions through fictional versions of Ivalice.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance may have been a better title to me, in terms of the storyline, if the characters were a little older; however, the gameplay was enjoyable to me.

I am looking forward this title only to see further takes on the tactical battle system. The story does not attract me too much.
I believe in the power of humanity.

I had heard that there were going to be two different new FFT games, one for the DS and one for the PSP. Is this true?
