Default Why does my copy of Super Mario Bros run extremely fast?

I ordered a copy of this classic a while ago, and for some reason the music runs really fast; like, little-time-left-fast, and even faster than that.
It isn't too bad though, because the game is still enjoyable; but I KNOW it isn't supposed to run THIS fast.
The real version is more like:

    da-da, da, da-da, DA! - DA!

...but my version is like this:

    dada-da-dada-DA! DA!

I hope you understand my babble.
    Anyway, why is this?

I appreciate your sarcasm, because everybody knows that sarcasm always made the world a better place.
Here is some sarcasm in return - my way of saying thanks.

When you hear this music, is your character blinking rapidly? As if under the effects of Star Power? Fast music is one of the symptoms.

The star makes new music, not faster regular music. Whore.

Stop this ranting already, EyesOnFF is one of the very few forums that actually feels somewhat mature, but that obviously isn't the case today.

Could somebody give me a serious reply?
Or is this just a friggin' playground nowadays?

And where the hell are the Knights?
They've got some job to do here!

Could it be that you have possibly misinterpreted the normal timing of Super Mario Bros. and therefore are mistaken in your assumption that perhaps the music in your copy is running a mite too fast? Perhaps you are thinking of a different game that has a similiar soundtrack to it and is still a Super Mario Bros. game?
