My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
Forgot about those B's. But even so, the A attacks are entirely different. Just look at Up-Smash. Ike pretty much forms an up-side down U with his sword, going from one side of the floor to the other. While Marth and Roy, on the other hand, stab the sky. He's also much slower than both Marth and Roy, and more powerful.
Ike was pretty quickfooted in the Japan Video.
My eyes were on Kirby and Ike through the entire video~ 'twas kewl
I know. It's just that with all of these rumors, leaks, and assumptions everyone's making it's hard to tell what they'll be adding/removing in Brawl. Especially with all the Ike replacing Marth/Roy theories and other assumptions like that that people are strongly believing.
Personally I'm not buying it. If they were truly using Ike to replace Marth and Roy they would've have had Ike be as fast as those two. Instead they basically turn him into another Link with slow speed but strong sword strikes. And as I said before if he does turn out to replace him I'll probably stick with Pit or Meta-Knight instead seeing as how they're fast blade users as well (they're not as cool looking as Marth to me but they're cool enough).

Wow... so... the tier list returns?
And, just as inevitably, a low tier character will still be able to pound a high tier character into the ground. As in Melee, Skill > Tier.
And making a tier list before the game is even released is foolish, IMHO. These guys get a few numbers and think they'll be able to know which characters are the best? You've had no time to work with these characters, no time to develop fighting strategies, no time to see how hard those powerful moves will be to hit with, nothing.
Numbers do not win a battle.
No, but I bet they help.

probably along the lines of... he's good at fast weak attacks and building up damage, but lacks the big strong kill move... this was a problem people had with Young Link in Melee, as most of his kills were like, the second swing of forward A, or the third swing of Up A
btw, that's not a tier list. It's just a list of characters and their "strongest" KO moves. Plus what abilities they have.

Very Nice!
I don't really want to be thinking about tier related stuff anyway when this new SSB arrives... christmas 2067. ^_^
I remember hearing that there'd be no more tiers. And by the looks of the weight list that seems to be the case. Fox and Sheik have been made a lot lighter to lower their positions on the tier list and Kirby and Bowser have been made more effective fighters to raise their positions on the tier list. So basically it seems like so far they've been evening out all the characters. Especially since they've now made Fox the lightest character and they've made his blaster backfire on him occasionally.
So it looks like it's going to suck for you people who main no one but Fox, Sheik, and other high tiers.
I guess that was quite harsh. But seriously guys, you should also main your favourite characters and not just characters that you find to be extremely effective. Otherwise I'd have never learned to be good with the Ice Climbers, Yoshi, Marth, and Mr. Game & Watch from finding them too hard to use at first. Also, it gets really repetitive (especially in MLG in SSBM) when you see nothing but Fox, Sheik, and Captain Falcon users. Using your favourites (doesn't matter if you like their personality, their looks, or the game they're from) make things more interesting and makes sure you'll be seeing a bigger variety of characters (unless you and your friends have the same favourite characters which I highly doubt).
Ever care to think that some pepole actually LIKE using high tier characters regardless if they are good? Its silly to think everyone who plays top tiers is aiming to win. The high tier characters are top notch because they have options. Plain and simple. That keeps them unpredictable to your opponnet and it also makes them very versitile to use which in turn is fun. You can try new things in each match and expect good results. Low tier characters have very very limited options and therefor lack the variety that comes with the top teirs. But what makes playing them fun is putting your own spin on the character. Its realizing this and putting it into play that makes you a great player. In this respect even low tiers can win. You just have to work your but off![]()
You can play for fun or to win. There is NOTHING wrong with either option. But i guess to each its own.![]()
Ok now for the long winded part...ready for the rant ya'll? (be warned im terrible at spelling and puncutation :rolleyes2 )
Yes there is going to a tier list. Its a fighting game. Pepole seem to think that the tier list is based on skill when this isnt the case (at least for melee it isnt). Tier list is based on tournament rankings. Nothing more and nothing less. So its safe to say in a competive scene pichu isnt very popular and neither is mewtwo. Thats because when people put money into a high paying tournament where they can gain a worldly reputation they dont wanna get knocked off early and therefore be forgotten. They are gonna play smart, counter pick and use their options. Anyone who is good has a style that they bring to the game and its easier to study styles with high tier characters then low tiers. Take falco who is currently at the top at the tier list. Falco has TONS of dissadvantages namely his recovery and marth, shiek and fox are cleary the better characters but pepole like using falco because of his sick offensive game and comboing. Its his popularity that put him on the top of the tier list. Now shiek who use to be the dominating tier god has lowered in the past years. Ya know why? Because shiek IS the best character yet people acknowledge that and find his style boring. His options are fairly limited in comparison to the other top tiers but they are EXTREMLY effective. Sheik has no bad matchups. Now granted from time to time he will still be used but your gonna find foxs, falcons, falcos, marths and peaches own the smash scene as of now.
But lower tiers defiatly have a shot. As cliche as it sounds everyones got a chance in this game. Sort of![]()
