Manaphy is awesome. That should make for some interesting battles!
You can't do it to move "upwards", if that's what you're meaning. But if you only do the first slash in his Sword Dance combo, you'll move further horizontally than you'd normally do.
You can, however "slash" upwards during the second, third and fourth slash of the combo. But not during the first.
I called my Manaphy C.Ginyu.
Sakurai! You can't just copypasta a root link! Some people aren't smart enough to navigate to the page! On the Japanese site, he links directly to the page where you can get to the "Iwata Asks" segment.
Here's the link to the English one.
It starts with an apology from Iwata, then gets to the meat. This is 'volume 1', and if the one they did for Mario Galaxy is any indication this should provide some good background info.
Skimming through it quickly, Sakurai has revealed what company is making Smash Brothers with him. It's not HAL, who made the last games (they're probly busy working on something else), and I recall him keeping the company he's working with a secret 'til now.
Sakurai is working with Game Arts on Smash Bros Brawl. Any Lunar/Grandia fans out there?
This explains the massive upgrade to the Adventure Mode we've been seeing.

Sure, I've played Earthbound. I've also played both SSB games and know how much Ness fans enjoyed his special abilities and unique recovery moves. If they give him some of his Earthbound attacks and make him a good character, I'm happy. I still think that some people are going to be upset about how much he's going to be reworked.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
Of course we'll be upset but we'll DEFINATLY get over it. It'll be fun to play ness with a new flavor this time around. I barely played him much in the first game (Actually i only used yoshi) but in the second game hes one my five best characters. I feel lucas is more deserving for the revamped techniques ness used to have so its not a total loss. Im just pleased ness is back. Still being skeptical about marth though (sorry evastio
).
Oh and .:kerrod:. you can also use the dancing blade to "meteor attack" (which means to spike in melee terminology). As ultima shadow said you cant alter the position of the attack on the first "swing" but for marth if you hold down on the third "swing" near the ledge it will meteor your opponet (for roy you hold up on his third "swing"). Its not exactly the most reliable edgeguard but its the argubally the flashiest kill marths got!
Besides the legendary reverse dolphin slash.

What? My eyes! The video does nothing!
Apparently it was a video posted on 2chan through a members only video page, and the video was taken on a cell phone. I normally don't concentrate on rumors, so I don't know exactly where the video would be taken if anywhere. But there's also this funky little picture which is apparently of the same thing in the video, though I had assumed one had merely made a fake picture and put it on their T.V. I'm confused.
Edit: Oh, yeah. Video of person choosing character. Picture of starting roster, allegedly.
1000 get.
There's a lot of interesting stuff in that 'Ask Iwata' link I posted earlier. I hope they'll be talking about somethine else at GDC.
JKtrix, you're off by one. THIS is the 1000th post.
Edit: Oh, wait, no.
this is a little off-topic, but it has to do with SSB, so i'll just ask anyway![]()
Do you have any tips for the 100-man melee? i need to beat it for falco and events 31-39/40, but it's so damn hardmy highest amount of KOs is with Link, and that's 71, but now i hardly get close to that, next is Roy with 66 and Pikachu has some too, but not really significant enough...any tips for characters or moves to use or techniques? i've only done this once and that was when i first got the game and i did it by fluke, but i dont even remember who i used -_-
Donkey Kong Down+B was an easy way to do the 10 minute or 20 minute or whatever it was. Probably works for that, too.
Manaphy seems like a fun Pokemon to get. I really like how they made it so that killing yourself as your opponent won't count as a KO against them. They really have thought of everything (except for how to stop delaying Brawl's release).
I'm somewhat thinking Nintendo gave Ness all of Lucas' moves because non-Japanese players wouldn't know what moves Lucas is really capable of while they do for Ness. I could easily imagine them giving Ness moves he is capable of in Earthbound like PSI Teleport for his Up Special, PSI Paralyze for his Side Special, and PSI Shield for his Down Special.
It looks real enough to me. It also has me really convinced. I doubt that someone would go through all of that trouble to try to trick us. But at the same time I doubt that they'd arrange the roster like that especially considering there's going to be a lot more hidden characters. I also don't think they'd make Sheik visible in Zelda's square.
I'm glad that's cleared up. Well until Brawl is released there's still hope for the veterans.
