Yeah, but that was his only line. He's overall better when he doesn't talk.

The fox and falco voices are just fine its the pit/meta knight voices I dont like, they sound really corny and overdone.

Pit I can agree with, but Metaknight sounds fine to me. I'll just ignore his Darth Vader-ness while a play.

I dont have anything against a darth vader sounding chracter but it just sounds really overdone to me.

Yeah. I don't like Meta Knight's voice either. I preferred his anime voice since it sounded much more unique.

I HATE Ike's voice. I'm sorry but, it doesn't sound like the voice actor from the games, or even manly enough to be Ike. I mean in the Wii Fire Emblem they make him super buff with huge muscles and everything, you'd think he'd sound more manly or tough

Fox and falco seem fine, Pit and metaknight I can deal with too, though they do seem a bit off

I heard Marth's voice actor is still Japanese and hasn't changed at all from the Japanese Version of Brawl.

If you can't play with items on the wackiest stages out there, you can't play Smash Bros. Tournaments should be held on Random stages, with Random items. It's the only way to truly gauge people's skills at the game. Occasionally a character may get an advantage in cerain situations, but they can also wind up in situations which leave them at a massive disadvantage. Playing Final Destination (or even Battleground, for that matter) with no items isn't playing Smash Bros.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

Uhh isnt that the polar opposite of what skill is? How is utter randomness "the only true way" to gauge somones skill? Anyone can do good or bad in a random scenario. There is no skill at all. With that said i think alot of pepole fail to realize that the competitive rules for melee have been around for a loong time. lol its no like theres two guys that are like "OMG FOX CAN SHINE! WE MAKE THE RULEZ AND EVERYONE ELSE IS GONNA SUCK AND NOONE IN THE WORLD HAS A SAY MUAHAHA". The truth is when you take a game seriously you have its reasonable to set some guidelines. The reason why these rules have been around for so long is because they work with the competitive atmosphere of the game. I dont get why pepole whine about rules when they hardly EVER compete in the first place. If competive gaming isnt your thing then just play the game like sakuri meant it to be played. Its dumb how pepole in the competitive scene are stereotyped as monsters who think wavedashing is the only way to win and going fox and falco is superior to any other option viable in the tournament scene. Look up videos. Have any of you ever heard of "Pound"? Its one if not the biggest tourney here in the U.S. A player named Mango won this year. Guess who he used? Jigglypuff See? Dreams can come true!

Another thing is whats with this "it isnt fun" nonsense to play competitivly? Do you think pros and such play the game because they force themselves to like some sadistic torture? There having fun too! Competitive play is fun as well wether any of you choose to admit it or not. In that regard what is so "unfun" about competitive play anyways? Oh right the "rules"...the "limitations". Well as i said if you dont like them dont compete but realize they really arent that outlandish as most of you make them out to be. For one stock matches are timed. This isnt a bad thing because this keeps the tournament running at a fair pace for everyone. Because matches are timed (8 minutes is certainly reasonable...though times do vary) certain stages are banned for the sake of fairness. Now granted i dont agree with alot of stage bannings but different tourneys have different rules. Theres only about 5 actual stages that are typically ALWAYS banned (brinstar being a top canidate because that stage sucks...for EVERYONE but more importantly low tiers which is soo not cool). And fights consists of sets which are typically best out of 3. You lose one match the loser gets to counter pick a stage of his choosing. So how is that not fair? FD sucks but most tourneys dont allow the same stage used in a set where the player won so that isnt a big deal either (though i like the stage it sucks playing an decent falcos there...).

Also there are diffrent types of tourneys. Theres "Crews", low tiers only (my favorite ), teams (tons of fun to watch) and the list goes on. My point is simply quit gripping about the competitive scene. If you dont like it thats perfectly fine but quit bashing the pepole who do because your no diffrent then the jerks you claim exist in regard to the competitive smash community. If the rules upset you so much the hold your own tourney, make your own site, and make your own rules (or heck dont have rules at all).

Oh and Spear pillar looks awwwsome.

Wowzers wall of text is an understatment! Lets uhh try fixing that a bit...

    wall of text... hurts eyes

I did manage to read it though. It's fine that there is competitive play with rules, I just think that everyone here agrees it detracts from the game. It's not the same game without the stages and the items.

My point, Monol, is that those random items and stages that try to kill you are what define Smash Bros. If you want a duel on a flat stage between two characters with very fixed movesets, you might as well be playing Mortal Kombat. You're not playing Smash Bros. Wacky, unpredictable play, maneuvering around the platforms, working the items into your battle strategies, those have all been central to the Smash Bros. gameplay. If you can't play with those things, you're missing out on most of the game. How can you claim to have be a skilled player of Smash Bros. if you can't handle 60% of its gameplay?
